Plants need fresh air and regular watering. Light is also very important for plants’ development. Light is a source of energy and information for plants.

Photons are necessary for organic matters synthesis – photosynthesis.

Day and night time period is a signal for a certain phase (vegetation, flowering etc) – photoperiodism

Photoperiodism is as important as photosynthesis; it is a sort of adjustment giving the plants an opportunity to start blossoming at a proper time (more favorable season). Using this opportunity one can make plants start blossoming at a certain time, season etc.

Daylight hours influence various plant types differently:

Short-day plants start blossoming at less than 12 daylight hours: rice, soy, corn, millet, pumpkin, pepper, eggplant, chrysanthemum, etc.

Long-day plants start blossoming at more than 12 daylight hours: grain cereals, fennel, clover, beet, carrot, etc.

Neutral plants start blossoming at any daylight hours: buckwheat, peas, cotton, plants with a wide area and tropical types

Red and blue spectrums control plants development more actively. Red spectrum blocks cell fission, it stimulates cells stretching, t.i. vertical plants growth. Blue spectrum stimulates cell fission, but blocks cells stretching. Different stages need different light spectrums. Blue spectrum should prevail at a vegetative stage; at a later stage red spectrum is preferable
